Should David Cameron be publicly vilified for his previous anti-Mandela campaigning at University?

Should any of us be vilified for stuff we said a long time ago?

I spoke to Dave earlier about this very point and he told me he can't remember ever mentioning Mandela and that for the most part he was off his face on class A's throughout his Uni years....his own words!

Best ask Boris then, I'm sure he'll know....

  8. For all his seeming bufoonery, i find myself agreeing with much of what Boris has to say....whether he genuinely means it, or it's just posturing is debatable, but as a political figure I think he's one of the less rotten apples. Gove, on the other hand strikes me as the type of chap that keeps a copy of Mein Kampf by his bedside

  9. We are all victims of the media that we are indoctrinated with.
History is full of these incidents.
I refuse to pass comment on people I've had no interaction with.
I have met and talked to DC on numerous occasions, ignore what you read and see in the media, it's not necessarily true!
Similarly I have been a union rep and interacted with Scargill and Thatcher back in the day.
You pays your money and takes your choice.
I have massively different views to those that I have today.
I still have respect for opposing views.
Boris is huge fun and nowhere near as Stupid as you'd think.

That exact phrase comes out of my friend Nick's mouth on a regular basis... even down to the excepted vulgarism

And i do mean the one at the end of the sentence not the one in the middle.

  11. Can't comment but it is what I've heard.

  12. i certainly pays my money....not sure about the choice though:(

Think old BJ is a very astute fellow...seems prepared to stick his neck out...unlike DC....both have much to lose by doing so. It's all blather and bullsh*t at the end of the day...I accept this. When I was younger I believed that politicians and the political system worked for the greater good...now I think they are largely self-serving sophists, regardless of their political bent.

  13. Weather politicly active or not he is allowed his opinion. So long as the opinion isnt to try to get people to kill for their own ideas and use religion as the excuse then anybodys ideas are there to be talked about.

  14. I agree as far as discussing ideas is concerned , but I don't believe politicians have that much real influence where wars are concerned...I think their advisors, backroom staff and powerful lobbyists set the agenda...ministers manage the message...could be way off the mark but that's the way it seems to me

  15. Yes....if your entire raison d'etre is based upon what you represent, and what you represent is subject to public scrutiny

  16. I agree as well .The first part was about Cameron and his thoughts but the rest was population generic .The leaders of the partys and indeed the prime minister are the Foghorn.

  17. Still no wiser as to who your talking about.

  18. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter and both men may change their view over time dependent on circumstances, who wins and political expediency.
