At what point did anyone say they agreed with wife beating?!
If Sean Connery engaged in domestic abuse, that’s quite clearly wrong.
I believe the thread was mourning the passing of an actor? If you think he wasn’t worth any tears, you’ve made that clear, allow others their opinions on his death and move on?

If my Nan from Pennicuik (just South of Edinburgh) were alive to hear that she’d thwack your ear with her spurtle.

    Several times.

And then thwack the other one.

    Overheard in heaven:

God: "Ah Mr Bond, I've been expecting you!"

Did they also have those thick wooden sticks they used to stir the washing with?
If you were really in trouble you’d get a whack across the backside with that.

I'm liking that, and I don't even know what a spurtle is :D It might be my new favourite word!

It is a great word. It’s for making porridge I believe. The last time we were in that Scotland I wanted to buy one, just because it’s a spurtle

And just remembered, there was a Miss Spurtle in The High Life, one of those funny little comedies that seems to appear for one series or two then disappears never to be mentioned again. We quite liked it :D

    The best Bond.
Great in Highlander. A Scot playing an Egyptian/Spanish swordmaster opposite a Frenchman playing a Scot.

    Possibly his weirdest film...... Zardoz

Odd casting but I liked the way he played this role.
