To be serious I remember having to pay £45 just for a reflector probaly 15 years ago.
Keep your originals, replace the reflectors. Keep the superior rounded lenses.

it seems a strange thread but here goes, for parts that are easy to replace like lights i'd go cheap as they can be broken easy and i rarely drive in the dark, i bought some cheap ass ones 4 years ago and they're still on and ok, other parts i'd see if it's worth buying premium depending on the difference between cheap/dear, after working at lucas for 13 years and seeing the line change boxes only for parts from lucas/jaguar/landrover/powerpart etc and the same item in each box i rarely buy "premium"

  5. Its just a bit of fun just wondered where people thought was best place to stick their money and how much they were prepared to pay!
I sort of agree ,chrome parts buy the best you can afford, better ,try and go for stainless instead ! But sometimes the new version ofyour original part by the same manufacturer is nowhere near as good as the original one from your van ,due to how good they have become at producing stuff to fine tolerences etc but of course less meat on there means its not as durable as the old?
My shabby Ikea pan set I got in the early 90's is still going strong (i try to kill it but wont die!) my better Stellar 'lifetime guarantee set' (top end stuff ), is also going strong but looks as good as the day I purchased it! Its a tricky one eh?

I seem to remember buying H4 Hellas for £40 each at the Volksworld show in 2012.

And think laterally. Look for shared parts with the early Golf.

Or another case: auxiliary air regulator for earlier fuel injection systems.
    Secondhand on eBay. For Porsche £110. For T25 / T4 engines £30.
Bolted to a lump of metal with a warm up regulator (usually £40..) for a Ford XR3i £10.

  7. Yes exactly the way it should be done? Hence my Classic car stuff BMC, Wolseley, Rover , Jag etc, parts usually made by same suppliers, so go for the unloved brand and you usually get the same part cheaper - mad isnt it?! :)

 I had a shed load of parts from Coolair which, in total came in cheaper than Heritage..but at the same time, I had those AMC Type 4 Heads from you guys (just before xmas) which came in way cheaper than Coolair!!

 excellent service was received by both suppliers too!!

  9. VERY, as long as your front panel has the extra tab in the headlight bowl its a straght swap with a little wiring modification:
