  1. Just for a bit of fun?
Curious what you would do if you need a complete headlamp unit for your van , ignore the year or type its just an example? Prices are made up but based on average prices I would expect in the market?

For me its got to be from freds old barn clear out next to his potting plants but tempted by the aftermarket pair for peanuts!

Bloody hell, where have you got the prices of Hella Headlamps from

I bought a pair from Coolair before xmas at £39.99 less 10% forum discount..the price stands today! They are not copies, they are genuine Hella with the mounting bezel.

 Ill go and break some steel samples then :D

  8. haha I just made them up - its just for the purposes of illustration although £99 is the correct price from a certain usual suspect in the scene. Hmm Coolair you say (lets have a look?) ;)
I have a brand new one I took off a scrapper beetle in 1987 and its still mint! Think it cost me £4 then?

  9. hang on thats for the later single screw headlight - cheap as chips - dont Golfs have the same one? I suppose I assumed the earlier 3 screw version (like mine) £109 on Coolair

  10. Ours are £35.50 and you get 5% discount with us so works out cheaper ;)

I don't have a Westie and I prefer camping to welding.
    What do you reckon?

  16. Actually how easy is it to change from the early 3 screw (expensive) unit to the later (cheaper) H4 one young Alex is purveying?

  18. I would buy from Fred.. although dont they share headlights with the Mk1 Golf?
Because if so I believe I may well have a lifetimes supply...

  19. Fred keeps hold of everything (Read Stan!) best geek to buy from.
So joking aside how easy to switch from proper old school lights to flatface later ones?

  20. I have no idea.. But if I ever break mine I'll give it a shot and let you know...
