Rock & Roll Bed advice

  1. Early westy hinges, Luxury!

  2. Well mine doesn't want to work :( when it's in bed mode and I try to lift the front part it is jammed, I have to lean over and lift the backrest to get it to fold. Hinges don't look too bad to me but I don't know what they should look like really :)

Very early Westy hinges, they aren't all that good

    They look rather crude.

  6. I sold some of these a while back. They are a bit fiddley to be honest. I didn't like they as they rely on the supports being free to move and they get full of goo, to lubricate properly they they get stuff in your locker dirty. I think, although not entirey sure, that you can do away with the supports on the front corners and use later style ones. To check this you could try unbolting them from the seat base and try. No promoses as i camt quite recall the method of operation. I do know that unless this type is working perfectly the bed just doesnt work at all.

  7. That would make sense, its October 67 build date, I guess they were just practising :)

  8. Worth knowing although I will probably stick with the original ones. Tried to keep as much of the original stuff as possible. Lived with them for 5 years now :)

I got my first reasonably comfortable night's sleep for 2 weeks last night after somehow herniating a disc. I'm perhaps a little fixated on non-rock and rolling beds at the mo and I could kiss my RR hinges every day as I hear the clickety click. :).
