£50 a night at Sandy Balls now?? Crumbs. You can camp on my driveway for er.... half that *rubs hand together* and then walk up the hill to use the facilities. I've even got an outside leccy socket
Just to clarify, we didn't camp there. We just looked up the prices on return home. Fortunately, we only live half an hour away from the Forest, so can avoid rip off prices. Shame though...
I saw hotel rooms in Blackpool yesterday for £15.00 pppn ,mind you it didn't say who you would be sharing with
Camped in Camp Davey Crocket near Euro Disney many years ago where a bottle of water was more expensive than a bottle of beer. Agree camping fees have got very expensive here and the same price with or without a hook up which I believe it is because they cannot resale electricity as a extra price.
Yes what is it with having to pay for dogs, do these campsites have any doggie bags situated on trails etc.?doubt it
That's because all the HooRay Henry's have taken over that area ....Ignorant as pig poo and twice as nasty
If it's Cornwall you are going folks .....Try Trevellas Manor Fm at St Agnes , nice location and reasonable
My wife tends to edge away and take an interest in the overpriced bread and milk these places sell when she hears the receptionist inform us they charge £X extra because we have a dog. I, on the other hand, look delighted and ask them what time they will be calling to take our dog for a walk. When they tell me they won't actually walk our dog for us I apologise for misunderstanding them and ask what types of dog food they provide. If they want £5 extra for an awning I start off telling then it's ok, we already have our own. Once they explain that they are charging us extra because we have one I make sure I tell them we have camping chairs and a kettle and a TV and a fridge, just in case they wish to charge us extra for those as well. I don't do greedy campsites very well.
We went there last September. It was no where near that price but the schools had gone back. In fact we were originally looking at the C&CC site at Verwood but Sandy Balls worked out cheaper and it was a fully serviced pitch so no fetching water etc Although for some reason only known to themselves they don't allow pup tents, however they do allow awnings so my daughter simply put her tent up in the awning We were going back again this September but eldest daughter has decided to come too and there is no way both girls will share the awning! So we are now going to another of our favourite areas, Brecon and will do plenty of cycling and kayaking along the canal.
Norfolk prices are also hitching up , was looking for somewhere last weekend , stoooopppid money , so went back to old faithful two weekends in a row ...
About what it would cost for a night for a smallish boat in a marina in Lymington.. They know you can afford it if you want to stay there..
We (Mrs booked it without me knowing!) just paid £70+ for 2 nights for a non hook up grass camping spot at Delamere Forest for us, 3 kids and a dog. Now as this was a Camping and Caravanning Club site I realised we were going to have to do as we were told but in addition to the No ball games, No kites, No fun etc signs one of the wardens ran over in a panic because the kids were blowing bubbles!!!!!!!! After we stopped laughing at listening to this woman trying to explain that no kids bubbles wasn't actually a rule and she was just advising us that bubbles can stain your own awnings alongside others the surrounding campers said they were happy for the risk
