Rip off camping

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by volkswombat, May 15, 2016.

  1. Just been out for a day in new Forest, saw a sign for a little campsite near Lepe
that weve not noticed before but looked like it might be nice. So just checked the website.
Now as much as I like the forest I think the campsites are a rip off. But this place is avin a larf.
One night for 2 adults and 2 kids, £37. No leccy hookup.

    Is it me?

  2. with you there my friend ! I thought £30 for a night of no leccy was steep....!

rickyrooo1 Hanging round like a bad smell

problem is camping is becoming popular and the prices in "trendy" areas are creeping up.... the most i've paid a night is £33 which was a bank holiday so hadto do 3 days minimum too.

Warcombe farm in North Devon makes that look cheap.

  17. New Forest prices i`m afraid ....
You were lucky to get one night to be honest as most of them insist on a minimun of 2/3 nights and because it`s overbooked they can get away with it ..

Bit of a shock after years in the Dales when a tenner was expensive !

    :hattip:

it is getting bad we use to go to the newforest sevral times a year but even the forest own sites are getting pricey
you should have a look at the sandyballs site in the newforest £50 a night plus £5 a dog

  20. These 'cheaper' hotels like Premiere Inn etc are well expensive. Tried to book one in Sheffield and they wanted over £100 per night. Some out of the area wanted £120+ per night.

Its a cheap ass hotel, not a posh 5*. Right con.
