Last print edition of the NME http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-43322793 When I were a lad, there was nothing cooler that walking round with a copy of the NME stuffed into the back pocket of your loon pants. Wasn't too keen on Melody Maker, as I suspected it was read by...Jazz fans (nice). Sounds was for Heavy Metal gonzos. All pretentious nonsense, but good in its day. What did you read?
I read MM and Sounds but later on that seemed to be full of crap by that berk Bushell. I did read NME but it started to grate frankly. I made the mistake of reading one of Tony Parsons novels once. Jeez what a load of sad sub Nick Hornby wannabe crap it was. Total rubbish.
