It is with heavy heart that I announce the sudden death of our clubs beautiful record common carp Cut Tail, she was introduced as part of the restocking of broadhurst in 1981, she was stocked as a fingerling and grew to an impressive 40.4, no one knows how she got her distinctive cut tail injury some say it may have been a spawning injury, the environmental people have been down and say that she died of natural causes and that the water in our lake is A1, she never graced my landing net and sadly now never will, So long beautiful lady
Didn't know a fish could live to 37 years! Must have been one anxious lifetime, everything you eat might turn in to getting yanked out if the water by your lips....just as well they have short memories!!
I hate it when we lose character fish. Especially when I haven’t caught them. She had a good innings though. Hopefully there’s a few behind her coming up to the magic 40.
If that’s the case, why was she caught only twice last year and once the year before, if she was caught every time she ate then surely she would of been caught every day
When we cleared our small lake a couple of years ago there were fish in there that had never been caught
how do they know it’s died? Did someone find it? There’s a fish in Sarah’s mums pond that I’ve seen for past 20 yrs. I will have to ask how old that one is.
