Ta for the link, it seems there are only 2 screws then unless it's an early, i'll take a look next week - and as for the remark about window out, it wouldn't phase me anyway both me and Moons were quite pleased with ourselves how easy we refitted the 2 new ones but i'd rather not remove it if i don't need to.
just had half my dinner hour on this, deffo only 2 screws so faced with knowing it goes up i started with this.... new rubber gave easily, ended up with this.... no nasty supprises underneath and clean as new, that's why i have a nice quiet slider... just need to paint the cover where it's been catching, cleaned and lubed slider and rollers, glides lovely now.
When you come to put the cover back on, I found it easiest to put the beading onto the cover rather than into the channel. I used a bit of grease to stop it falling off. Then with it diagonally and starting at the front end, drop into place and then work backwards until it's all in. BTW from that nice shiny pic who says you can't polish a turd ;D
