Regulator setting with electric fuel pump

  1. Hiya,

I have a Facet electric pump on my 1700 engine running standard Solex twin carbs.

It is connected to the carbs via a ProFlo fuel pressure regulator, which has a scale on it from 1 to 5.

What should I set it to?

Also, should there be a cut-off when the pressure reaches a set amount, as the fuel pump pumps the fuel through constantly when the ignition is switched on.

    Ta

  2. the pressure regulator wants to be set to 3, and between the needle valves in the carbs and the pressure regulator, that will regulate te amount of fuel... the fuel pump is meant to pump constantly... The OG mechanical one did ;)

  3. cheers mate - will leave it at 3 - the fuel pipe comes from the pump to the regulator, then from the regulator to a t piece then branches off into 2 with each pipe going to its own filter then to each carb - is that right?
    thanks

  4. What sort of filters?? Only asking, as filters really should be pre-pump so they are on the low pressure side of the fuel system!!

    Everything else is right

  5. Just them cheap 99p see through plastic things you can buy from all the vw parts suppliers with the brown paper elements inside - should they be fitted between the fuel tank ad the pump then, or between the pump ad the regulator, or what ??

  6. between the fuel tank and pump
