Hey Nedfaux Like the look of the Jason Jesse one. I used to have one of his boards back in like 1988. Is that out already? Looks like a really fun doc mate. Now all these what I call documentaries man. Some good stuff going on.
An interesting film about American ignorance and how, "Anybody who drives a Beetle must be a woman or a homasexshul.". It doesn't exactly infuse me with national pride, but it's a good watch if you enjoy being stupefied by the less evolved of our species. For all you who liked the first new age traveller documentaries here is another one that's pretty good though quite short. New age travellers - The golden age of coach travel
There is a quirky documentary about the A303. A303 HIGHWAY TO THE SUN (BBC4 self shot) "Fascinating and strangely wonderful" (Daily Telegraph) I really liked it.
Ah yes, I watched that one. Was really good. Thanks for reminding me. Like the bit about Edgar the king and the memorial. We getting a really good selection here
A serious subject and what must be a horrible affliction, but still, I find this ferkin hilarious. Teenage Tourette's Camp
I also like anything to do with sharks and Nazi's. Sky has a lot to answer for... As Jack Dee once said - "A shark can sense a single drop of human blood from 150 miles away and home in straight for the kill. A shark would have found Anne Frank sooner than the Nazi's...."
I just remembered another one everybody will like. (what a good thread) It's called Yank Tanks. It's about how Cubans keep ancient American cars going. If you think you have it bad restoring that bus, think again. Due to the 40 year old embargo that forces them to keep these ancient cars running, they can't even get parts. They have to make them all, even asbestos brake pads, in their garages. Being a communist country, only the government is allowed to have heavy machinery, and they won't make machines to build car parts because they want everybody paying for public transportation. So these impoverished people are making exact replicas of fenders, grills, emblems, etc,.. out of scrap metal and pounding it into shape with hammers. They even bend glass in crudely fashioned alley kilns to make perfectly fitting windows. Considering all those beautiful curves of the 50's and 60's, this is no small feat. They can't even get welding rods or automotive paint. They weld with pieces of chainlink fence. Then after all their hard meticulous work, they have to spray paint these works of art with off the shelf rattle cans and latex paint from the hardware store. The film is subtitled, which is actually a bother at times because you're too busy looking at the cars to read. But it's a fascinating documentary for anybody with automotive restoration experience. We are SO spoiled. (Free on hulu.com) Yank Tanks Trailer
