I cannot get a drum off the hub.... Adjustas are backed off [more than five complete turns] cut the hand brake cable undone the cylinder I am assuming the drum has a massive grove and the shoes cannot pass it.... I can see inside the two 11mil holes and it has`nt moved a mil despite knocking the living daylights out of it... I do remember this hub causing me problems in the past ,just thinking I might not have had it off before.... The offending part is off the bus... :help-sos:
You need a copper hammer dude... beat the crap out of it, and it will eventually come off!! wind the adjusters all the way in if you can... make your life as easy as possible!!
Once the adjuster is backed off, all the way. smack the drum side to side to "move" the shoes away form the drum. If you can get the thing to start off, slide a pry bar in the center to pry against the center hub.
Seeing as it's you I think we can assume you've already hit it hard enough. Undo Castle nut and take off the hub along with the drum, then tap it off. Easy.
If your vice was bigger I'd say balance drum edges on jaws and give the castle nut a smack. Or you could cut the castle nut off maybe? Then you could do what I suggested originally... The drums do sometimes get jammed on the hub. If it moves at all it's the shoes, if it doesn't it's jammed on hub IME.
The backing plate has only one inspection hole ,this I can stick a screwdriver in and move one of the shoes ,I think maybe I should drill another and try to back the other set off while smacking it silly... Castle nut will be last resort... ;D
drilled a different hole to see where the other shoes are and they are ... . . miles away from the drum ,it pains me to say zed maybe right.... ;D
