realistic valuation. how to?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by earlylatebay, Feb 18, 2016.

  1. Hi all.

How do I get a valuation of our Bay? There seems to be wildly varied prices out there. I don't want to give it away but also don't want to be unrealistic. I would like some of the money back put into it.

How to start? how has everyone else gone about it?

  3. Would really love to but just don't seem to have the time anymore. Just keep looking at it in the garage.

  4. Unfortunately, it is often the case that one doesn't get back the money that has been put into it.
A lot of people tot up the accessories and extras and modifications they have done and expect to get that back. The real world doesn't work like that. You need to be objective about it, step away from it and ask yourself what would I pay for it if I was in the market for one.

if you got it cheap you'll make money, if you didn't you won't - it's worth nothing if you're not using it so look at what others are fetching on here/early/evilbay etc and price it in the middle i'd rather sell quick and get rid before i change my mind once i decide so that's how i sold mine (in less than a week)
i'm sure if you put a pic or two up you'll get a fair idea?

  6. I know I wont get back everything that has gone into it. That is just a given. I was wondering about £9000 but wondering what sort of spec people expect for that amount.

  7. I will take a few and see what people think.

  12. for £9K I'd expect a fully functioning bus with recent MoT, documented history, receipts/proof of work carried out over the last few years (at least),
doors and windows that shut and seal properly, a dry, working interior in presentable condition, half decent paint and bodywork...

  13. minger..

  14. You just described a 12-15k bus.

Well I hope so anyway, because that'll make mine worth more broken up than as it stands now.

  15. It's only worth what someone is prepared to pay ! That's a saying my dear old dad use to tell me, he was right then AND still is .....

No chance, you're lucky to get a decent import for that money now. 9k is for summat needing work and a hooky mot
