  1. Hi James
My bus has a vinyl fold-back sunroof that I have yet to open, as it seems to be quite stiff. It's held down with press studs, one of which has been unfastened since I bought the bus. I've tried to reclose it but the vinyl doesn't stretch to get it closed.
Is there any solution or special cleaner that I can use to soften it up before opening it?

    Do you have any pictures?
I'm not aware of anything you could use. Have you tried leaving it out in the sun to soften a bit and then reattach?

@Lasty’s camper is now all ready to go home tomorrow with a nice new poptop canvas and headliner. I also made a new buddy seat cushion for him as the old one was damaged.
I hear he's managed to wangle a lift down to me tomorrow in one of those dodgy old early bays (ain't that right @CollyP)! :p

Thanks Sarah! Chris was keen to keep the look of the old one so hopefully I’ve done it justice.

Apologies for being an arze, but shouldn't the stripes be parallel to the tin roof?

Intentional. The original had the jaunty angle to the stripes which Chris wanted to keep.

Sorry, should have put this up before.
You were absolutely right, after warming up in the sunshine I did manage to stretch it far enough to get the popper popped down.
Still looking for some kind of treatment or polish to use on the vinyl though. Because she lives outdoors, I don't want to damage the roof at all when I remove it but she needs a clean under the edges and the roof will have to come off when I get the rust in the gutters sorted.
Thought you might know of something to use to soften and protect it, what with you doing seats and the like.

And they’re off! A nice little visit from @Lasty and @CollyP to pick up the van.

Do you have any pics of the headlining in the pop top?
Lastly has the same roof as me and I’d like to see how you went about it.
