One of my customers is very good with electronics, he buys old push button radios and converts them to blue tooth, at the moment he is converting my old 70s Philips radio, basically you connect the radio to your phone by Bluetooth download the DAB radio app then you have 1000s of radio stations and you can play your own music and make and receive phone calls all though 50watts per channel
If anyone is interested in one of his radios let me know and I’ll try to post up some picture o and the cost, I think they are about £120 posted

    Not if it’s a 1950s 60s 70s mono radio it doesn’t

  5. I'd doubt you're getting 50W out of it, unless your radio's made by Marshall ;). 3-5W, more like. Can you still get Henry Hall's music Night on the radio?

Those £10 bobbies are great if your radio has FM and is working but no good if your radio is mono mw/lw or doesn’t work at all, he strips everything out and then makes them a Bluetooth system which you use with your smartphone ,

Snotts the inner workings of the radio are completely stripped out and rebuilt, it has 50wats per channel, and is Bluetooth

Sounds interesting @Barry Haynes. what sort of money does he charge ?

I did an old radio that had stopped working, used the original speaker and on/off volume button and added a wireless charger to the underside of the case

  18. Can you ask if he can do a conversion on a head unit with a cassette player in it? I've got one in my 944 and would like the dab/Bluetooth but also keep the cassette player.

He doesn’t usually do conversions on peoples units he did one on mine because I kept on and on until he agreed, what he does is buy old push button radios, converts them and then sells the units, I’ll ask but I already know what he’ll say
