Any tips for getting the engine home that final inch.

Everything appears to be level and square?

    Any help fellas???

    Thanks.

  2. presuming you aligned the clutch, turn the flywheel over with a prybar, its probably stuck on the clutch

  3. Got it in gear and the hb on??

If not do it and give the engine a rotate on the bottom pulley, and then a good wiggle and it should drop in...

Sometimes you have to back off the release bearing too

  4. As above, make sure the clutch plate is aligned. Then make sure the engine's going in absolutely square and straight ( maybe angle it up very slightly).

I've had engines refuse to go in, then a slight tweak of the angle (including side to side), and it slots straight in.

  5. Sorted. Got the missus to rotate the alternator pulley slightly as I shoved it home.
