Thanks all & to @Samwise as the OP. I will go for the Propex HS2211 (it's quite expensive though but we don't like cold even with the flannelette jamas & hot water bottle) as the space under the seat is essential for stowing gear. Unless, of course, anyone's come up with how to fit a standard Heatsource under the van in a waterproof box?
Not sure if it would work so probably better to go for the Propex designed unit.

I wouldn't be without mine. Even during the warmer months you an still get the odd BRRRRrrrrrr moment and it also helps take the dampness out of air inside.

  3. Did jk not just do a trial with an externally mounted unit under the floor and plumbed into the cab heater pipes.

Look out for eberspacher too, I have one in the crewcab and its fantastic
    :)

If you're only going to be on campsites with electric hook up then I wouldn't bother, just get a small electric fan heater instead. Much cheaper and you're paying for the electricity anyway in the charge for the pitch.
Obviously you'll need your normal van heating working for when you're actually driving.

  5. I too have two 907's (one in use, one spare) which I run the propex, fridge and cooker off. Main issue is butane not working properly in the cooler months. My propex is just starting to play up now as the temp drops. Alas, the westfalia cupboard can't fit in a calor propane bottle (of which I have 3!)

Done it, just ordered the Propex HS2211 on-line. Very excited as we collect the bus next week from it's barn & start the re-fit.
Thanks @KarlB ,I may use butane in the summer as we can get 907's everywhere on the Continent & change the regulator for propane in the winter with a UK bottle. Needs a little more thought....

  7. If you only use it in the summer I wouldn't bother, it's the 2nd best mod I've bought for my van but only use it during the winter.
Got mine between the front seats so I can pump heat into the cab and the back.

  8. Wierd got an email today from justkampers selling a propex kit for bay at a special £399 - which is pretty good I reckon.
Not point for me just yet ;)

  9. Also speak to Bluebird customs. They do good discounts at shows. We got ours for well under £400 from them

  10. Mine came with a combined thermostat and control box so getting far too hot shouldn't be a problem once you get the thermostat setting right> Good bit of kit I reckon and no it's not too noisy but then again it's not a silent runner either!!;)

  11. Cheers for the advice guys, I'm gonna go for it, but I clearly haven't spent enough money with JK to get a discount! Although it feels like it.... The hs2211 looks a good bet, but out of my range, so I'm gonna watch JK and all the other suppliers pretty closely in the next couple months.:thumbsup:

  12. Reckon anyone can use that code.. Maybe :)

  15. That's a dilemma... I'm after one of these for our late bay, but there's no existing gas bottles or pipework. We only have one of those portable single ring hobs which take a small cartridge.
My concern is carrying around gas bottles under the bed and venting the gas bottle storage. What have other people done in this regard? Any photos of Propex installs would be useful!

Pipework etc shouldn't cost more than another 15 quid imo.

I'd get it whilst the offer is on and worry about fittings later, though don't be surprised if offer doesn't include big ticket items....

  17. Voucher code seems to work fine - I've gone and ordered one...

  18. Nice one, I got drunk and went for a rosewood steering wheel instead, which sort of defeats the intentions of the post, but perhaps next year...:beer:
