Just finish this thread off with my findings, what I have fitted is a buttys bits lately throttle kit (1972-1976) with the modified end plate that comes with extra holes for the throttle cable, with this kit there is an extra spring to go under floor between chassis and end plate. I got another bracket, pedal pin and spring and with the Wolfsburg West pedal, when these were all fitted together, the pedal sprang back on it's own. After everything was connected up together I have for the first time ever got full throttle on my DRLA Dellorto carbs on my 1600 Type 1 engine.

With that kit all hooked up and setup nicely it’s a pretty smooth throttle.
