I'm not exactly sure what this has got to do with the Government, independent judiciary and all that. They can make allowances for character and circumstances, but they can't change the law.
That's kind of what I thought. Unfortunately, ignorance is no defence and he was found to have a very serious bit of fire power. I can't see this getting over turned, as owning a fire arm is about as serious as it gets.
Freed yes, cleared no. The sentence has been suspended which means the conviction stands. Although I feel for the guy this could set a dangerous precedent.
I don't think he should of got sentenced but someone of his position should know a hell of a lot better to own, or at least get caught with, a gun.
