"Leftover bits of Halley’s Comet are going to set the sky dancing with up to 20 shooting stars an hour this week. Known as Orionid Showers, the meteor shower is caused by dust left by Halley’s Comet, which hasn’t been visible over Earth since 1986. Between October 20 - 22 every year the planet comes across the comet’s orbit again and its debris create the amazing effect in our night skies. When can I see it? The Orionid Showers will be visible from today until November 7. The best time to try to catch a glimpse is on the nights of Wednesday October 21 and Thursday October 22. Keep an eye out from 9pm onwards - but you’ll see the most if you’re lucky enough to get a clear night after the moon sets at about midnight. Where can I see it? The eastern coast of England and Scotland will have the best views on Wednesday 21, while most of mainland Britain will have a good chance of seeing the comet’s debris on Thursday night. "
