And he may get away with only serving a 6th of his sentence. 10 months, then could be potentially out on licence.
Just said on Sky news that some bloke outside got 6 years for robbery, no one can understand what planet the judge is on and it's a mockery
He won't go to 'normal prison'. Some of you seem to be forgetting that this sort of thing isn't unusual over there. One of the Springboks shot his daughter in similar circumstances a couple of years ago and another guy has done almost exactly the same since (kitchen not bathroom). It happens on a fairly regular basis. He has more than enough money to buy a decent std of living, he is/was also a bit of a National Hero, albeit a Marmite one. Remember also that the incidence of Murder there is 6th highest in the World, over 16,000 per year compared to 653 here! Don't get me wrong, he did it and it's wrong, he should be punished and he will be, but in accordance with the laws of the land, his land. Others have received similar.
getting bummed will have a new meaning when he goes inside and they take his legs away ,lol he ll get his fair share of white and dark chocolate inside him owen nw
He's only going inside because The Authorities couldn't find an acceptable method of putting an electronic tag on his ankle.
What people tend to forget is the aftermath, following such a high profile case. Whether he deliberately shot his partner in a fit of rage, or it was, as he claimed, a genuine mistake, for which he's truly sorry, only he will know. He's been tried (very publicly) and found guilty of manslaughter. The trial judge has seen fit to serve him a five year term. He'll most likely serve it in a half decent prison, segregated from the more malevolent inmates. Regardless of whether you or I think he's guilty of pre meditated murder, his reputation and standing is in tatters, and this will haunt him for the rest of his life, one way or another. As for the family and friends of the deceased, they'll never get over it.....even if the judge upped the sentence to 10, 15 or 25 years.... One aspect of the justice system that has been exposed by this trial is the inherent inequality....a down at heel commoner, committing the same crime, would probably receive a mandatory life sentence, and certainly wouldn't attract the same media attention, despite the same crime being perpetrated. Of course, media celebrities in the dock are going to be front page news, but to what extent did Pisorius' fame and status influence his decision to pull the trigger? In the same way that Ched Evans believed it was OK to rape a 19 year old girl...to an extent, we and the media create the circumstances whereby certain individuals consider themselves either above the Law, or beyond reproach. More power to the 150, 000 Sheffield Utd. fans who signed an online petition to prevent his return...
Looks like he might get off , new evidence has been found outside the Pistorius home that completely acquits him of his girlfriend's murder. Footprints.
I've always been a bit slow, if you don't say anything people might not notice, right head, down lets go
I hear the reason he wont serve long is that with the prison population being mainly blacks who in "their culture" kill the disabled... he would not last 5 minutes and the judicial service knows it!
