You need two breathalisers, and two hi viz vests I think. First aid kit, spare fuses and something to light the cooker with. Oh, and a mallet for the tent/windbreak.
The Gendarme dont bother stopping VW Buses as they know we are way to cool to drink and drive, though my papa got stopped in his musty Citreon and asked where his breathalizer was. If I remember rightly he told them to sod off. They then nicked him for smuggling Croissants across the border.
Spare wheel Foot pump Jack and a bit of wood selection of hand tools Big hammer! Gaffer tape (should never leave home without it)
This is only a beware as not sure how hard they are being on drivers from abroad yet , but you should have speed camera warnings switched off on your sat nav if you have them whilst in france.New law came in in jan this year where you could be asked to pay a 15oo euro fine if found using a sat nav or mobile to warn you of on coming speed cameras, not many people know this , you will notice as i believe the french like us know where the cameras are and slow down. Have a good holiday some great sites to see and stay 8)
the breathalizer is not needed for tourists until october , there is a 3 mnth grace period its only for french nationals .
