The engine I've got has no heads and no tinware but I think the rest is there. I'd like to be more helpful by measuring endfloat but I'm not sure that I can, I just don't have the tools (unless we're talking 'agricultural' amounts then it's easy ) for all I know the crank in it is good too? I'm used to roller bearing cranks that have zero float. I can take a look tomorrow morning if there's anything specific to look at?
Sorry for you mate, I'm in a similar position as you know that's why I'm going for type4, even second hand one is a better engine to start with!
Right, I'm with you... they have had issues with the thrust cut on the case... Unfortunately at a 2mm cut, there's not much more that can be done with the case... someone might be willing to tig it, but that requires someone who knows how to weld mag alloy... then you could get the thrust cut again!!
thanks you are a top man as long as it turns and you cant feel anything when pulling on the flywheel it should be good Just got to have a chat with the boss when she gets home.
Another option http://www.theengineshop.info/acatalog/Short-Block-1600-Air-Cooled-211100033SHORT.html But may get stung with the surcharge
