Noise when heating is on?!?

  1. Hi guys, this is a question about my 69 bug. Now I know this is latebay but I've got one of them to so I'm one of you guys :) I have a 1969 beetle which I have just put new heat exchangers on. Now when I turn the heating on (lift up the lever) I get road/engine noise from some where in the passenger foot well near the door. Any ideas as this has stumped me! There's no rust in the heater channel as it was fully restored 6 years ago bit why would I only hear it when the heating is on? This is the first time I've had heating so I do not know if it was like this before hand or not. Any advice?!?

  2. if all of the joints are air tight, then it might just be engine noise coming in with the blown air!!

Does it get nice n hot in the cabin??

  3. Have you got the wadding in the concertina pipes from the HEs? I believe this was intended to stop weird chuffing noises coming up the heater pipes.

  4. Yeah but I get no heat to the front passenger side windscreen come to think of it.
