Not sure I can let you get away with that Barry, even using 'mainly'. The UVF shot dead John Scullion a civilian as he walked home, a month later it shot 3 Catholic civilians as they left a pub, it also bombed Catholic homes, schools and businesses - that's not going after the IRA.
NI has been an anachronism ever since 1609 when the then English government thought it was a good idea to take land away from its rightful owners, Irish Catholics and give it to English/Scottish Protestants, it was never going to be a harmonious existence and a lot of people on both sides have paid a heavy price for that decision.
