Was hoping to get there , but mothers 90 th birthday weekend, looking forward to next year.

 

Im in Kingswood and it’s a proper mare going up the M5 to the Techenders and takes forever. Then Doug told me to take The Old Fosse Way and it’s a revelation. It’s an old Roman road apparently. The Bristol bit is all mashed up and generally buggered but you can hop on after Cirencester and that will take you ninety nine point nine percent of the way. I usually go up and leave late morning on a Friday. Get there, set up, wander to the pub for a feed and a pint with whoever fancies the stroll, usually a half dozen or more of us. Stroll back, pint or three in the bar, th3n a Stella or two and a bit of a camp fire at my van . Saturday get in the way helping anybody while making brunch, chat baloney fir a bit get my fish and chips ordered, then into the bar then back to mine.

I'll be going Thurs to Sat as Ineed to pick my daughter up from Luton Airport around Midnight on Saturday, I'll probably go there straight from TE.

 

From the South West it's got to be the road to take. The camp site is literally on the old Fosse Way (the modern road has meandered ever so slightly, but is very close)

 

Oh, and we’ll be there under canvas again. Next year though...!

Yeah should change that; moved with work to Plymouth so its abit more of a mare from there finishing at 5 on a Friday. Been trying to come for a few years but never seem to make it work. Next time!

 

We’ll be at TE but if you want somewhere to kip Saturday night for a stopover, you’re welcome to use our place. 20min south of Luton. No one will be home so you’ll have the place to yourselves.

 

Look forward to seeing you both again, it’s been an age!

 

Wow that's really kind Ray, I can tell you're a fellow Hemel boy They live south of peterborough and will probably want to go straight home, I'll just have to spend Saturday loafing and resting (as usual) whilst not drinking beer (not as usual).
