It’s a dying trade mate, never short of work. Mate of mine is an undertaker. He has a great sense of humour. He has to, he tells me.
We have £100.00 bet on who go to who’s funeral…

Drive like you stole it, don't indicate, park anywhere you like (the more inconvenience to others the better, ) and you will be fine.

Yes i have indeed,,, just turn up as they are all desperate for drivers and pickers etc. Agree to do whatever they ask of you, then gradually do extra shifts on day runs then eventually you’ll end up doing all days. Most of the guys and gals you’ll work with will be regular peeps and good fun, most of the management have not a clue about managing and will just repeat what they’ve been told by their boss’s . Don’t get too excited about which manager you like or don’t like as they don’t tend to last too long. I’ve been there for just over five years, in that time we’ve had six different store managers, we’ve had five or six different managers in our homeshop section and section leaders are lucky to last a year. Once you’ve been there for six to eight weeks, you may be offered a position of section or team leader,,,,,,, don’t do it,,,,,,, it’s an extra quid but you’ll be run ragged.

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,, have fun,,,, it’s great.:)

    P.F. Situation.
Mostly under control, the three main elements to this seem to be acupuncture, rolling frozen bottles at least three times a day and not walking to the loo in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning without at least a little more than a tickle of a massage along the calfs and under the arches before you take those first steps which seem to be the most destructive to your recovering. As with tennis elbow etc etc, the ability to forget your ailment seems to be the most limiting issue with your recovery. So don’t think you’re healed just because it stopped hurting that day, you still gotta be very kind to your lickle feets. As far as the delivery stuff is going, I won’t/ can’t go out delivering or loading the van without either an accomplice to do the lifting or a new driver to train up and do ninety nine percent of the lifting. The feet are almost pain free but with just a hint of a dull ache at the end of the day. I think the spinning wheel style training bike is helping too but I still can’t manage more than three minutes even with inhaler technologies to boot.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, the Pig In Muck is out of reach this year I’m afraid.:):(:)

P.S. Who and where are you going to work for ??? And don’t forget, the first shifts you’ll probably get are the ones that no one else wants. And don’t agree to do more than one day of the weekend as they may try and get you to do both but you will have to do one just because it’s retail.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,, the older vans are usually nicer and rwd too.:)

    Thanks for your help.
It was Sainsbury’s but really didn’t like them.
I have taken a job driving SEN kids to school instead, it’s probably only a temporary thing until I get my health back under control but who knows.

    Who Meeee?
    Not my cup of tea
    Just couldn’t be
    Now dya see?

I’ve had enough warnings and written warnings while I’m out of the shop most of the day ,,,, and well away from the management hierarchy ,,,, I’ve no interest in being grassed up by the customers to any passing manager type with little to no sense of humour when I yank their chain.

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,tooooooo whiskey ;):)

Funny enough, I went for the exact same job with that company but in Bristol and I did exactly the same , every single thing took an eternity to sort and uncoordinated wasn’t even in the same building with that gang. So I turned it down but thought I’d still like the job so ended up at Asda as both were a mile or two up the ring road but in different directions.

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,, works for me. :):):)
