I have a new exhaust box - does anyone know if there is something I can put on it to prolong its life?
Bought a stainless one instead... I've as yet to come across a paint system that'll stay on... other than ceramic coating, but the individual cost of it means it's cheaper to buy a stainless exhaust!! What engine are you running?
I've never found any kind of paint that really stays on. The silencers tend to rot from the inside due to condensation, so might be a bit futile anyway.
High temperature exhaust paint or is that too obvious? I've tarted them up with it, but I wouldn't like to say whether it had prelonged the life or not. Looked better though. I used grey stuff.
I have not found anything that stays on after the first couple of drives. Don't seem the temp should be that high but it does not stay on?.
To prolong its life avoid short journeys. Exhauts rust from the inside out. T4's tend not to rust out as quickly as the T1's which is good because T4 systems are not cheap.
