Well I searched the threads and was quiet concerned I could find no discussion on this, or is it just me who had waited for months for this. My opinion it rocked ....... Yours ?
I'm with you @Row Peter Capaldi brings a whole new feeling to Doctor Who & hopefully his character will be darker & more like William Hartnell in the early seasons
i watched it just as i was out yesterday, i quite liked it - is it silly that i love the old references (long scarf one - round things in the tardis etc) plus the matt smith bit at the end made me smile wonder what the link is going to be through the series (the woman who gave clara his number?) and who is the woman in "heaven" who says she's his g/f?
I am another who really rather liked it - I think it showed lot of promise for the future as well. I loved that I actually had a moment of doubt that the Doctor would be there when Clara said he would to the robot. I also, like rickyroo, love the old references that tie it all together - it's so impressive (to me) that each doctor has been so different, but the series still works and is even enhanced by it. I think the Doctor is in safe hands with Peter Capaldi.
I've never watched a single episode of Dr Who since the 70's. I enjoyed it, it's much better without naff special effects, and I like Peter Capaldy anyway because of The Thick Of It. The story was good, though have no context for the green alien woman. Am also looking forward to Capaldy calling a Dalek a €^nt.
tennant was a scot but played it as a "mockney" i loved the episode early in tennants tenure when he hammed up a "false" scottish accent with rose and she told him off.
