Time consuming stuff going on now One for Para New 1/4 light frame in - had to re-rivet it fresh out of the box Time to screw down the canvas!! Bit of prop action... so I have some slack to get the canvas fixed at either end all fixed down Rear hatch.... Jail bars Just waiting on the rest of the window felt clips and the doors will be all together 8)
Wow - you've cracked on since I was there Paul! Sorry I distracted you (and you had to walk back) Got your message - Engine is ace thanks but those tail pipes are now really loud - something will have to be done.
Cheers for the skylight pics paul It doesent appear to be as slim as i first thought so ill probably just stick with the one ive got after all
As the correct length stainless bolts turned up today, I got the roof cap bolted on properly... I also made up some stainless spreader plates for the outside of the roof cap.. Next on the "to do" list was the dash... on closer inspection someone had painted it with what I can only guess was plasticote After giving it a beasting with the wire wheel in the grinder, I threw some satin black on it and it came up a treat!! next I pulled out 4 random screws from below the stereo slot, and welded them up Did a bit of final prep, and hung up the rest of the items for paint And whacked on some primer!! More tomorrow
Evening you lot Been an epicly humid day today, and I feel absolutely pooped!! Won't need much rocking tonight Last bits painted in white Then I started on flatting off the paint work before polishing it Then after a bit of mopping Now this is where I'm at with the G3... I've still got to G10 it, then wax and buff with the lambs wool!! I'm pretty happy with that
Rear side jail bars fitted And after a polishing session on the back end I popped the back bumper on!! And the dashboard back in Started fishing the new loom through too more tomorrow
Getting the jobs ticked off Got the new shifter in, along with the rod underneath, and connected the coupling to the box I also got the new clutch cable in, dropped in a new flexi bowden, and popped on the wing nut, and re-attached the clutch pedal!! And after having a quick conversation with Neil, I started knocking up a new loom, as I wasn't impressed with the modular one that he'd previously purchased... lots of little issues with it Back lights hooked up Back end pretty much done Plenty more to do
Nice empty space ready for another bus then lol chuck us a pm dude to let me know when your ready for mine ;D
Will do buddy... Looking at around 4 weeks at the moment I think!! Been giving the wiring a good beasting today!! Almost there, just a few odds n sods to wire in, then I can test it all and make sure it's all working properly!! A couple of pics that I know gives some of you guys cold sweats getting there - ignore the blue crimp on... that'll be getting changed very soon!! Dash now sporting - 12v outlet, Hazards, Elec washer, Head light switch O0 fished a couple of wires through for the interior light headlights all wired in more tomorrow
almost original.... some of the original colours aren't available, so what I have generally has a tracer so I can distinguish between n/s and o/s, and it is all thin wall modern wire, and all done with factory style crimps... you won't find a insulated crimp or a scotch lock on one of my installs
I was just wondering what the next workshop would make of it that's all, not critising - I wouldn't fancy re-wiring a bus! Looks a top job matey.
well it'll be a lot safer than one full of scotch locks and twisted together wires Almost got the wiring buttoned up... got a few bits to put in then I can start testing it all Had to give the speedo pod a bit of a refurb!! A lot of over-spray from one of the many last paint jobs quick clean up and a lick of paint and it almost looks new All in
