I've nothing bad to say about them either and I don't blame them for trying to find a better life over here. The problem lies with bone idle Brits who prefer to sit on their butts being subsidised by the taxpayer rather than going out and doing an honest day's work to earn a living. But as soon as you start to talk about reducing benefits for them, people start howling.

    You can't win!

  5. Have we left yet?

I told you lot Northern ireland would be an issue and boy is it. It is actually THE issue isnt it as the DUP runs the uk now doesnt it!

Fantastic how the tories have right royally srcewed the whole thing up and somehow thats Corbyns fault. And we all lap up the drivel on n the media. That said, labour are such an easy target. They (we) couldnt win a raffle if they bought every ticket so... general election, bring it on, disaster for labour, corbyn gone, may gone. Fresh start.

Btw. I said it would never happen. I will stick by that for now!

A big issue for me is getting hold of unbiased information, unfortunately the bbc is not what it was and is so anti government and is looking to sensationalise eveything you don’t get the facts.

They keep reporting that its only the NL back stop that's holding it all up but I just don’t get it as I understand it that the back stop is just a agreement that they will look at the issue later.

The same people are saying a no deal is better but not saying what would happen to NL

We voted for the politicians to represent our views, they voted for their leader to lead them and they decided to give us a vote, we had a vote and voted to leave so they should just get on with it.

  8. Even if the PM was able to change the backstop and pivot towards one of the ERG's positions of a Canada style deal (she can do the former, but the backstop is an EU redline) then it does not seem to provide the parliamentary votes to get her deal across the line.

No doubt she will try her deal again on the 29th.

The opposition, the DUP (on grounds of the backstop) and the anti backstop faction will probably vote against.

More of the anti-backstoppers will get onside if the EU offers a time limit, the EU are unlikely to do this...why would they? What's in it for them? Nevertheless the better deal team (aka Canada-style) (about 30-odd in total will come onside).

To get the deal thru assumes PM can whip enough of the remaining 80-0dd that voted against the deal to back it AND to get a few of the Leavers in the opposition onside too - it remains to be seen if they will defy the whips, first time around there was no need for them to defy the whip, the govt was going to loose so badly they would show their hand without benefit.

  9. and that Corbyn refusing to speak to May. What is he about? Kim and Trump are having another meeting, they are world's apart with opposing views and leaders of separate countries.

But Corbyn doesn't have the bottle to meet and speak with his British Parliament counterpart. He is a disgrace.
