    Hi all...

I need a new rear light housing.

    I've a lhd bus.

I need the housing for passenger side.

    Which side is this?
I think nearside as it's an English thing. I maybe wrong.
    Who knows out there..
    Thanks

  2. It is a strange English thing. "Nearside" for a LHD bus would be on the right. However...your panel supplier may think it's the other side - worth checking.

Nearside is near the kerb, offside is near the middle of the road.
Don't know where you are or where you're ordering from though...

Italy? Could be as snotts said.

Better off asking Barry about being offside :D

So nearside on Lhd is right (kerbside)

    Nearside Rhd is left (kerbside)

    Right. Thanks

  6. Yes. Except nobody outside of the UK knows what nearside and offside are ;)

In the jk catalogue p2 it says nearside and offside remain the same regardless of lhd or Rhd.

  8. Well, technically, they're wrong.

They do, because regardless of left or right hand drive, we still drive on the same side of the road (if that makes any sense...)

All the linemen who run the lines at Chelsea have no idea what offside is, we are cheated every week

I'd say they're right for the UK market.

Near side is nearest to the kerb regardless of left of right hand drive

Off side is furthest from the curb,

LHD or RHD is irrelevant, motorbikes have nearside and off side and there neither

I wouldn’t worry about it, if you’re ordering from JK they’ll probably send the wrong one anyway. You could order both sides and send the one back that you don’t want, although that might not work, JK could send two of the same sides, and both wrong.

If you need a part for the right side of the bus, order it from a supplier that understands left and right.

I thought that rear light housings are symmetrical anyway. So you can only buy an offside one if fewer than two of your mates are nearer the shop counter than you are when you score one.

Good point but JK could still send the wrong one.

Or they could drop it first. Like a brake drum they managed to chip a piece out of once..
