  1. Ha ha thanks Barn, appreciate it :)

  2. Well a little more done today. Managed to complete back board and make work top! Now waiting on Chippie cutting out to fit the hob and sink in, gonna attempt starting the roof lining on tue as I have been let down again!! :(

  3. Just a quick question! I have been driving around today, two trips, each about 1 hour in duration on A roads cruising between 50 and 60. When I stopped after the second drive I just checked the dip stick and I could hold it but only just, is this a sign if running to hot or does the dip stick need to be red hot to be a problem? Thanks in advance :)

  4. Sounds like it might be running a touch on the hot side... Have you checked the manifold nuts? Make sure everything is nipped down, as they have a habit of loosening off a little in the first few miles due to heat cycling!!

  5. Great thanks Paul, appreciate it, I need to redo tappets anyway so will do it tomorrow :)

  6.

Tappets were next on my list, along with points gap ;)

  7. Electronic ignition! :)

  8. I put a thermostat and all it's parts on the bus when I rebuilt the engine, is there anyway of seeing if the flaps are opening when engine is warm ?

  9. Go for a drive, pull over and stop and have a quick look ;)

  10. Looking good mate, I have all this to come but mechanicals first - finally got the bus yesterday!!

  11. Congrats and never stop believing! :)

  12. Can you see up through from the bottom? Not sure you can on mine as I have J tubes and heat deflectors on the bottom! I will have a look though! Thanks :)

  13. Just catching up on your thread. Loving the look of how the kitchen unit is coming along. Can't wait to see it finished :)

  14. Lagged J tubes and redone tappets, three or four where just a bit tight! Took her for a 30 min blast, sweet!! :)

  15. Thanks Paul
All manifold nuts where tight but a few tappets where a bit tight!

  16. Cool

Always nice when it's a simple fix :)

  17. Yeah, will keep an eye but dipstick was moderately warm and no more, had a good look this morning and it is impossible to see if the flaps are opening, even with the bottom plate off! The thermostat is working so I guess the flaps must be opening?? :)

  18. Do you not have the little og flag that pops up in the engine bay when the flaps are open?

  19. Cheeky

  20. Is he type four engine and not type 1?
