Offered up the new outer arch & it fits perfectly-even stays in place without clamps:

  11. Wow, the first pictures make it look like scrap but now you can see a top bus emerging, fantastic!

    Hope so! :D

  13. I don't think "hope" is going to play a part in that mate!

Nice work, those photo's should be stickied* at the top of the board, as to why genuine arches are worth the extra!

Then have a montage of pics from others resto's here (mine included) of Klookercrap arches being bent, hammered, cut, strapped, jacked, kicked, filled etc to make fit.

Genuinely envious at how easy that arch looks to fit!

  15. That's not fair! I did that same repair last year and my arch never fitted like that!

Really great work there, looking forward to seeing the end result

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

They are easier to fit without a cab floor or wheel tub. ;)
Lovely neat work. Have you hung the door on yet?

I went ahead & fitted the arches without thinking about whether the doors would line up & I didn't try them on until after they were fitted. Luckily the doors seem to fit fine.

You might have noticed that the lower side panel repair that I fitted has gone & been replaced by a taller panel. This was because, as usual, I wasn't happy with the finish on the panel. I had to make this from a flat sheet:

    As it was:

    1st repair cut out:

The start of the new panel:

Repeated this on the other edge, then formed the panel to the correct curve & attached the outer sill:

  19. Some tidy work going on there @smeato.

  20. If i tried that i'd probably find the doors were 2" too bit to fit the hole.:p
