Motorway speed

1955cc st rocker with high ratio gear box and 195 80 x 15 tyres
if kept under 65 it will do 26 mpg , speed seems to creep up on long journeys, ha vent managed to sort that problem yet

 

50-55 for me. anything over that has the old girl starting to strain.

 

All you guys slip streaming lorries do you realise that your engine is running hotter as the air flow in the rear vents is disrupted ...

Theres no fun on them there motorways. Aroads and straight through the towns is so much more fun.
Then there the A303, that reminds me of a Chris Rea song

 

55 mph for me 60 mph down hill with the wind up my arse ;D

 

let the world fly past at 90mph and chill at about 55mph travelling in style!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

50-60 for my bus. He just seems happier at that speed. l can take him higher but he then starts to use a little oil. Economy wise however these isn't much in it. In fact he seems to get better gas miles over 60.

When l first got him running l ragged him silly up the freeways because l could being a 2 litre and he gave me 17mpg. l don't do that often

 

interesting that mention of the 303>on radio and in newspaper driving supplement weekend past was mentioned that particular road is to be "toll-ed" >>>of course, cos it"s busy ! anything not to be taxed , guys? thank god mine is tax exempt ! it so , this toll-ing roads, hacks me off !

 

Well after my trip to bug jam and using the Tom Tom as my speedo along with a gps speedo on my phone it seems my speedo is about 10 MPH out, so when I'm doing 70 according to the clock really I'm only doing 60 odd.

I thought it was a bit strange the lorrys doing 65 !
