  6. In terms of cost, there's an easy way to work it out:
'Phone somebody like Just Kampers, VW Heritage, German Swedish and French or Euro and tell them your registration. Say that you need a full brake line kit, rear shoes and fitting kit, two rear cylinders, master seal repair kit, two front hoses, and a set of front pads...your front discs will probably be OK

Alternatively, phone a garage who is prepared to work on older vehicles...tell them what your bus failed on and ask them to give you an estimate. They won't Quote you an exact price due to labour costs and any additional problems they may encounter...Phone a few more places, and go with the best/most convenient company.

It may just need a rear cylinder a good clean up and re-bleeding...you won't know until you've taken it in to be checked....but if you go with the worst case scenario, anything less is a bonus. You won't get much change from £500 worst case scenario

A garage will be able to get the necessary parts cheaper than you or I could

  7. thank you vanorak, its due for an estimate on Wednesday, the garage deals in older vw's :) i'm hoping 3 tops

    for the labour or parts?

  10. I would probably mess up and it was cost me double, i'd feel safer knowing it was done correctly, but thx for the encouragement :)

    Are you 12?
(No problem if you are and it would explain a few things)

To replace you're whole braking system? No chance.
    For a brake service? Maybe.

  15. the mot failed the bus on all these brake parts, but when I drove it there seems nothing at all wrong with them, no pull to the left or right, only had to touch them and the bus stopped straight away, handbrake worked fine, ??

  16. are you still insulting me?

i think you're forgetting labour costs are prob £40? an hour maybe more, plus bits will be rusty and siezed and parts on top plus scene tax, i say £500.

Have you got a chip on your shoulder? No-one has really insulted you. A few have tried to educate you to the way of forums but you've ignored them. In fact the first person bandying "prick" around was you...
I simply asked if you were 12 as its how you come across.
No worries, this forum has a great function called "ignore." It'll save me spelling out how you should put air in your tyres.
