Haha cracking up at some of these suggestions!

I started up, engaged reverse, plenty of revs and pushed it back a bit, they have nice towbar shape on the number plate now.

A bit more than before yes. Maybe somebody will hit it coming round the corner....

you need to be a bit quicker off the mark ... and once the silver car is gone move back about 5 feet

 

i saw them all having their pic taken next to the new star on the latebay.com!!! now the champerz has gone they are going for the fosters

 

i also live on the nearest street to the town centre with no parking restrictions , i often find this

get a life size cardboard picture of a wheel clamp and stick it on. or put your own one on.

Im fairly certain the proximity to the junction contravenes the highway code somewhere.

My sister used to have this problem at her house in London. She had stickers printed that just politely asked the cars owner to be more considerate when they parked. Very very gentle and polite, about 6" X 4" so legally quite reasonable and not aggressive or damaging to the offending car.
She did however specify stickers that needed about twenty minutes of picking with a fingernail to remove and even then you couldn't get rid off all the glue.
She never had to sticker the same car twice.

Get yourself a traffic wardens uniform and stand outside and wait

 

A friend had this happen and felt that he really should leave a note on the windscreen complaining.

 

Sod the traffic warden uniform! Go all out

 

The best solution for all situations is let the tires down on offending vehicles, however I found out that this is illegal. Not that parking opposite junctions or on a junction is any different. When the owner arrives, show a little sympathy, let them know it is such a shame what with it being illegally parked and the warden is due within the hour..blooming jobs worth...tut.
