Manky gusset!

Always wondered, is this the work of Volkswagen, Devon Conversions or (unlikely) a PO? The welding's shocking! Always assumed that ALL of the pastel white on my bus (inside and out) is original but whoever the culprit is, didn't even apply the age old motto of the incompetent fabricator, "filler and paint make me the welder I ain't" .

 

Well it’s on the b pillar for a start so it’s a bodge, should be on the c pillar on the sliding door side and higher up than that one is sitting

 

Unless that is the slider, hard to tell from the pic

 

C pillar, that's the sliding door and front of the van to the right

 

Could be original then, maybe they let the apprentice have a go with the welder that day

Looks like a pigeon got in at some point!

 

Production date was Friday 16th March 1973, maybe they were a bit keen to knock off early and get to the pub for an early St Patrick's day booze up

 

Does appear to be original. Mine’s much the same, but a bit tidier.

Mine is a crossover but not the same at all...
