Lost Dog waaaaaaaaaaaa

  1. At home blubbing like a 5 year old :'(

Sitting at home earlier on when Pascale shouted that there was a dog looking in our barn window. Went into the garden and sure enough a little dog was sitting out there - had obviously wandered in off the main road (!!).

Brought him in - no collar and no identification. Walked the streets looking to see if anyone was looking for him. Pascale made some posters which are up and around the street. Called the council and have just come back from dropping him off at the kennels which nearly broke my heart. They have a 7 day kill policy :'( :'( :'( Rang Paley who has promised me we can ring and bring him home to ours if he's not claimed or adopted.

Poor little thing. I would hate, hate, HATE for either of my dogs to have to spend the night in one of those places (although I'm sure the people are very kind).

Feel awful for taking him up there. Wish I hadn't bothered phoning and kept him here instead :( WHY can't people just pay a fiver for a tag and a collar?????

  2. Can they check if he's chipped?

  3. They did it while I was there Ned - no chip :(

Lets hope either his owner comes round or you guys give him a good home...anyway, it was great to meet you & Paley today!!

  5. Fingers crossed the owners will turn up.
Few years ago we moved house and our little 'un, Mollie, got out of the garden under the fence the very first time we went out after moving in (she had a dog flap in the door)
She was wearing a collar but we hadn't had chance or remembered to put a mobile number on her collar so she just had her name and our old house number. Luckily, she was taken in by an old girl way down the road and I by chance pulled into our road and saw her being put into the council van she had called for.

  6. Both mine have collors, i'd be gutted/heartbroken/inconsolable (think sp) if i lost Bobby, she's my angel and best friend.

  7. Its an awfull feeling losing a dog thats why i have mine chipped

  8. Dinky me too - I would absolutely be besides myself if I lost either of mine. I think that's probably why I was so upset. I had to pull over after leaving the kennels as I couldn't see for booing.

Mine are both chipped - I can't understand why people don't do this, it's really not expensive and some pet charities even run free chipping days. Although - only Womble has a tag on, Diggy's just falls off all the time. I must have been through 20 in 5 years.

Blowfish - what a bit of luck, I would have kissed that woman all over til she screamed for air I think.

  9. Ive told you my story but as an aside did you take a piccy at all? We could start an online re homing site!! ;D

You know we are more than capable of holding your little friend here while we locate a new owner !!! ;) ;)

  10. Ahhhh Trev I love you even more now. Thanks buddy.

Here he is, temporarily named Bill in honour of my friend's grandad who's birthday it would have been today. He looks a little bit part Lurcher to me. Gorgeous temperament, didn't stop smiling the whole time he was here.

  11. aww dear little mite, hopefully it'll come good soon :'(

  12. Theres whippet or greyhound in him for sure

Do you live in a rural area? lots of fields around?

Running dogs and car based coursing seems to be the new bull terrior fighting for the chavs atm

They also dont seem to be fussed about losing dogs and dont go looking for them when lost

He looks well enough from his face but how was his general condition

  13. Looking at the pic again id say he could well be a bull whippet

  14.
  15.
  16. Its a whippet cross staffie bull terrior im 100 % sure from that pic

Was he caked in mud when you come across him or quite clean?

Ribs showing and not wanting to eat for the sake of it are lurcher traits

  17. Clean as a whistle. Definitely got the speed of a whippet - he was running my fat pair ragged in the garden!

  18. looks more like a lurcher x Labrador :- i guess he's just a loveable Heinz 57 :)

  19. Looks more like a pet than a poaching dog to me

With the dogs weve found round here that the poachers have left weve found them to be poorly cared for and most often underfed

It would have been caked in mud if it had been coursing at this time of year

I really hope you find its owner as its a loverly looking dog
How was its temperment? was it scared and timid at all?

  20. lurcher x lab
