I keep a small tub of copper grease mainly for assembling stuff and running old nuts up and down old bolts and studs. I keep a tub of Lithium based grease for my grease gun and I didn’t want to stir the pot earlier in the thread but I can’t get with the ‘Messyness’ of filling the grease gun thing ? You open the tub of grease, it’s got a huge plastic centre like a mahoosive washer in there, you plonk your grease gun on it and pull the handle up, simples, no mess , no grease everywhere You slap your gun back together and the jobs as easy as that. I do keep an empty and cleaned out plastic milk bottle over the nozzle with part of the bottle cut out to fit around the gun. That helps to keep the end from touching anything and getting grease everywhere and it stops any marrrrmite from sticking to the end of your grease gun and getting involved in junk in your nipples. If I need anything specialist for little jobs like the CVs I’ll get enough just to do that job, like a big tube and there’s usually a tube or two of bits and bobs knocking about in my garage along with cans of specialised anti seize sprays that no longer spray, and silicone release type stuff that also dosent spray and faithful old 3 in 1 oil in plastic decan tors and an oil can that works when it feels up to it for any old oil that’s drained out of the end of a container and a blue oil can for brake fluid,,,, great for bleeding brakes if I ever get these drums back on.

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,grease in tubes ?????:)
