Given that the Brum Massive will infest the beaches, Somerset is just in their way. So it will be a quieter place than the coast. I like the look of the place. Nothing to do with the boat.
Been to Clevedon and liked that ( wife says that is in Somerset) Wells and Glastonbury nice. Weston super mud, Brean, Minehead middling .... Cheddar Gorge very run down. Never been to the area south of Minehead....is it worth a look...and if so any recommendations?
Cornwall ... that’s south of Minehead. Skip over Devon though ... they don’t know how to do cream teas. Any guesses where I’m from?
The Mendip hills are gurt lush. I love annoying the hell out of the children by making them go for walks there. Me saying how beautiful it is and them moaning that they are not at the park while eating a rubbish picnic that I made.
Not been to Blue Anchor, is there a good fish (and chips)shop? Been a couple of times to a big pub for Sunday lunch at Raleigh's Cross high up on the Bredon hills....which was nice.
when my folks were alive, we would always get a Kelly’s ice-cream at Point and look over the entrance to Falmouth docks. My Dad proposed to my Mum there
I order in Prima Pasties from Redruth (the large steak ones are pretty hefty and close to an original). They come frozen and take about an hour at 200c. Cost about £42 for 12 ... not bad
