KWIK FIT - Loughborough

  1. Have been to them only once in the last 40 years when I took a Austin Maxi in for a new exhaust and came out with more holes in the new one then the old, when I complained they replaced it with another but said I needed new shockers all round when it was finished, 'thats strange' I said 'its hydrolastic' never been back to them since and would never recommend. So they are still up to their old tricks!

  2. Sounds like you had a "kwik fit" . So why the complaint ?

  3. Not Kwik-fit, but by local 'Posh' (ie; free coffee/tea in the spotlessly clean waiting area, large screen tv etc), tyre centre are rip off merchants too.

Took my car there a few years ago for new tyres which were duly fitted. However , I was called from the waiting area and told that my pads on the front brakes needed replacing and that my wiper blades were worn/torn. Would I like them to repair said items? "No". says I, "I'll do them myself". When I checked the pads there was more that enough meat left on them for a few more thousand miles but, sure enough, my wiper blades had some tearing of the rubber that I thought I would have noticed before.

A couple of years later, I took a different car for the MOT at a local centre and they said that everything was fine, just needed two rear tyres to pass. If I could get them done straight away, they would issue the pass certificate with no extra fee. So back I went to the same place where they duly replaced the two rear tyres. Once again, I was called from the waiting area and told that they had noticed that the rear pads were worn dangerously low and, guess what, my wiper blades were worn/torn!! When I said that I had just come from having an MOT and the tester had not mentioned anything, the young lad backtracked saying that the pads did have enough material for now but could do with renewing. He showed me the wiper blades which, sure enough, had rips in both of them which was odd because I'd checked them and so did the tester!! When I complained to the manager, he 'authorised' a 'complimentary' pair of wipers to be fitted (they wanted £20 to supply and fit!) Total pi** take.

I now use a back street tyre place which has a portacabin as the waiting area or you can watch them fit your tyres etc. if you prefer. Not as flash, but I would recommend them anytime!!!
