    • Hi all I just bought a 2.0l golf 2001 model. It sometimes cuts out at the traffic lights. Is there anything I can do my self to fix it .thanks Gian.

    use roundabouts instead.

  2. get it plugged in to decent fault code reader
if you want to guess then try unplugging the MAF sensor

yeah as aussie bay says plug it in vag com it will tell you exactly what's up - saves all the messing about.

  4. Prob MAF sensor, just press both pedals :/

  5. Will do thanks guys.

  6. Don't stop at traffic lights

You're obviously not doing what it's used to having for the past 12 years.

What I've noticed over the years is that most golf drivers sit at the lights revving the nuts off the thing, normally whilst wearing a baseball cap the wrong way round, sitting in an offset position in the seat, which is leaned back as far as it goes, listening to ear splitting drum and bass Marmitee with a girlfriend in the passenger seat who has a council estate face lift.

Both smoking something pungent smelling and looking kind of 'chavvy'

Give that a go tomorrow and report back as to how you got on
    :)

    womball and snotty like this.
  7. You're a terrible person...:)

As above, get the diag port scanned (Vagcom or the like). It's the only way you'll know what's up.

  8. Sorry what's a MAF sensor. How will pressing Both pedals work.

maf sensor's on the air intake sometimes unplugging them makes it run - the both pedals i would think is a joke....

  10. Makes wheel spins easier to do
    :)

  11. MAF is Mass Air Flow
its just before the air filter box

    Fumbling around VAG.com!!!

    Phnaar overload :)

  16. If it is the MAF I would say don't get a pattern part as there kack, better getting a good second hand unit. Both pedals, brake and throttle as the same time lol. I've had loadsa golfs and polos and it's quite a common issue lol.

Oh and not all golf drivers are like that

  17. boot it up...run it for a bit on idle....pull the dipstick out....if it idles just the same it the PCV valve...if it runs like a bag of sh*t it's not that.

  18. I'm not the only one to have noticed then
    :D

  19. Is the pcv set up on these the same as a mk3 gti?
