You need one of these to make people think you have somebody who knows what they are doing with you.... I dont know. Just outside the Foulkes chandlery barge on the Upper Hamble
You get what you pay for. It’s a kayak. They have them in Germany too here. Saw one the other day.Anchors away!
The £100 base model pvc canoe I own looks .. thicker.. but in reality both would be just as good until you meet the first sharp thing. Should bring it to TE and try it out in the puddle..
@paulcalf Where's Mr Joe King from Lidl when you need him? We have volumetric type questions that need answers... How many bottles of gin can you get in their Kayak, is there suitable storage room for tonic? The list goes on....
We also bought life vests from Decathlon, just in case anyone thought my dear husband was putting the lives of our children at risk.
I have the Sevylor version and that has a clever inflation guide .. just a 10cm strip of plastic fixed to the chamber under a clear cover. It doesnt stretch as you inflate the chamber . So they print a couple of lines on the outside of the cover and tell you to inflate until the end of the non stretched strip is between the lines. no under or over inflation. I think it also weighs 33% more than the LIDL version. I think these are a lot safer than the cheap rubber dinghies or other beach toys which blow away without having any very effective means of propulsion.. When you compare those toys with my 28kg Avon Redcrest dinghy which you can actually row at 3 knots , theres a world of difference. But then thats 40 years old and would cost £2000 to replace new. (I paid £200..)
I’m queuing in the rain to get one of these - ten minutes before they open - they’d better have the buggers in stock
