On Saturday 24th August, Jools and his big band + guests will be playing outdoors at Holkam Hall in North Norfolk.

If you like a big brass section pow-powing out the stabs, some blues, boogie and soul and haven't seen the band in action before it's highly recommended. In fact I doubt there's a bigger/better brass section on the road and that's what I go for personally. Yes I love it!

So I'm going to this one and camping somewhere. It's August bank holiday so camping will need booking in advance - I expect there's a site we can walk to the gig from if you don't mind a bit of a walk or can always drive and stay sober.o_O

Anyone up for this? A break from the usual dub-centric weekends...

Opposite Holkham Hall is Holkam Bay - a large flat sandy beach with sand dunes. Great for all things kite and buggy or just lying about in the dunes.

  4. 26th of August is a Monday dude! but it is a bank holiday! In bach from Spain on the Friday and would love to do this if I can. At the moment I'm pencilled in as Taxi driver for Leeds (festival) but love the area, only been a couple of times but nice place to "play out".

  5. Can't say if I would like this or not as I'm not really into music, I just copy the latest Now CD & play it in the car until the next one is released...

However we are planning a trip to this area that weekend & will check out the site as a possible base camp, we want to explore the area more & also pay a visit to a friend in Hunstanton etc.

I shall keep you posted as it would be nice to get the beans to sleep, chill & have a little tipple with like minded folk

Saw him last time he played there. He was awesome. Closest camp sites would be in wells. But they're either caravan club or pricey. I've seen campers parked up on the buttlands in wells most summers. Blatantly camping. 3 nice pubs within 100 yards!

  12. This sounds really cool but we have SkegVegas already booked that weekend.

No not yet. I should hurry up - I'll have a look tonight when I've eaten.

  17. No worries Mrs Robo has been checking out sites around the area and we are undecided so if you guys are heading to a particular site it might help make our minds up :)

We have even booked annual leave on the Tuesday so were hoping to make a real long weekend of it, we want to explore some of the places we have just driven past before...

  18. If only it was the weekend after! Planning a week in North Norfolk the first week in September.....
