JK Gift Vouchers and the missed email

I hate gift vouchers as its shows no thought in buying somebody a present and they run out.
I would prefer cash as sad as it sounds.

 

I think the thought is that rather than just give someone money or a generic card you've thought about their interests and pastimes and targeted the present to suit that. Its a nice gesture I think and if they had let me use it the first time I tried then there wouldn't have been an issue but they didn't and then I mislaid it and then they told me to use it and then it got stuck in a drawer till I remembered it.

 

I bought a selection of bolts from my local supplier . They were so cheap I am sure I would have got more money back if I weighed them in as scrap

Will we the customer ever learn from this type of scenario £20 is a lot of money to simply give up on . Take it higher , especially if the advise from trading standards is correct

 

They must have a large number of these in circulation they aren't intending to honour as who would have thought it was worth the bad publicity for the sake of £20 and even now Id be happy if they coughed up. I thought they might cave if I was persistent but this is a last throw of the dice before I go a bit more public.

I had an issue with redeeming JK vouchers, initally they could not find any reference to the vouchers existing. Eventually when they acepted the voucher codes were real I got to spend them but not through through the website. For some reason it cost me £10 more over the phone than buying off the website (vat and postage all in both), sales assistant was not very helpfully at all.

With the restoration now looking to take a few more years it has the potential to be a recuring and welcome gift, when asked I informed the pople kind enough to provide the vouchers not to use JK again.

I've never purchased anything from JK, don't know why, just haven't. I certainly don't think u will consider them from now on either, especially as I'm sure they don't get emails like that everyday, a Gesture Of Good Will, would've redeemed them slightly. Not good service in my opinion but hey, who am I?!

 

I think legally they are within their rights to enforce the use by date if it is clearly and unambiguously shown on the card.

I find it almost unbelievable though that a large company, who lets face it, have already been given the £20, should be so shortsighted and petty as to refuse to honour a gift card however out of date it is.

JK come on here and assure us that they are interested in us as customers and say they are desperately seeking the best deal and best spares for us. They worry about us as consumers and aim to give us a rewarding 'shopping experience' because they really really love us and our old vans.

And then shoot themselves and their good name in the foot so they can get £20 off of someone for nothing. To be honest if they're THAT desperate for money we should all club together and send them 50p each, bless the little poor people at JK.

Seriously though, what gets into these people that they can't see the damage they're doing by being so petty.

It's such a shame they've been like this. I love their British made parts that they've been stocking over the last year or so. I wonder where josh has gone? He used to be on here a lot answering questions and actually being very helpful!
