It was a funny trip. We set off at 3am from Falmouth motoring. The (new) owner finally went to catch up on some sleep at about 9am so me and a friend sneaked the sails up and had a bet how long it would take for the owner to pop up when we switched off the engines - about 2 minutes. It went faster under sail of course, it was a lovely reach all the way until the owner decided he'd take the helm apart as we passed through the IOW shipping lanes and lost a ball bearing.
Just a heads up on current prices mate....Pal of mine just picked up a very nice, low milage, Anniversary Clubman TDI....the one with the big sunroof in the middle, for a very tidy £17k.....
What is the typical cost of road tax for a van like that @The Bobdogs ? I've waited until now to look for a T4/T5 but the road tax bands are baffling. I think pre 2001 vans are cheaper than later vans, which can get up to several hundreds of ££££
I'm now the owner of this 4 berth Clubman GL, 47k miles , clean as a whistle , totally un molested van, as it came out of the coach builders... Well chuffed Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
The missus doesn't like the curtains ... We are at logger heads .. I don't like them either but think they should stay as they're original.... I'll wait till she finds out how much it will cost to replace them and then I guess they'll end up staying
I have to say they're brilliant , bit of a beast on the drive though compared to the bay , £300 quid tax made me smart a bit as well
I can see a lot of comfortable looking seating, but is there any kitcheny things? Fridge? Cooker Sink?
Get new ones but keep the originals for when you sell it for a caravan Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk
Three way fridge , hob, grill and oven , sink, toilet, bathroom sink, shower , fresh water tank , grey water tank , hot water heater, gas fire and blown gas heating to main seating area and into the dunny I looked at a T4 Gipsy and this one was laid out much neater
Going to keep an eye on things , work out the mpg, I was never much good at that sort of think with the bay , I drove 276 miles back from Glasgow and used just over half a tank , probably about £60 worth?
