We've made the hard decision to sell the bay .
If I'm honest it's never been a very practical family bus given the twin slider non pop top configuration and we yearn for a simple life of pulling up, handbrake on and we're done :)

    If it sells , we'll be buying a T4 coachbuilt , most likely a 4 berth autosleeper clubman ..

It's not gone down well with us all having to sell the bay but we haven't got the room to keep it and we need the money from the sale to offset the cost of it's replacement ..:(

  3. Gotta do whats right for you and the family.

Can't be fun if you're all squeezed in.

Bigger camper will mean bigger hangovers though probably

What about the towing option...I've seen a few small caravans that are basically just a large bed behind Bays? Glad your not leaving us whatever your final choice.

  7. T4s are a great replacement - bigger with a few modern day refinements and more suitable when you reach "a certain age " , some even have a fitted bog ffs !!

    Hope it works out

I think I'm at that age now...
We made the decision the last week long camp away, we set up in that really hot week which wasn't ideal, I think.it took us the best part of two hours to get the awning up and get set up, to be fair it's our own fault , we take a LOT of stuff with us but once set up we are sorted but it absolutely broke me :p

We do like the idea of convenience of a coachbuilt and will slowly learn to accept that we are now motorhomers:rolleyes:

We did you with the idea a few years ago but decided against it.
The bay needs some TLC and a few quid spending on it and I can't be bothered and don't have a nice garage to do the work in over the winter either so.. decision made

    Sad times mate.
We changed sites today, something we wouldn’t bother to do for a single night if we’d bothered with the awning!
Event shelter and windbreak for the win.

I must admit we toyed with the idea of getting something a bit bigger but I would want to keep Major too. As you say though, you need to be mega loaded!

I keep intending to sell mine, I can't really drive it for more than 20 minutes without doing myself a mischief, but then... I drive it for those 15-20 minutes and decide to keep it a bit longer.
I'm with you on setting up camp nightmares, been there done that. Divorce and a wind out awning for the win.

  19. I understand completely. We find the Bay camper most impractical for three of us and two dogs. Its much easier to go down the boat, where there is plenty of space and the beds, stove etc are already to go. I do wonder sometimes if I should swap in for a Honda Jazz.
