on a bench .. 8) ive spent a bit of time building it up from a rebuilt short engine, it has no leaks, ive changed the points, set the valves, done the timing, tuned the carb.. and im pretty chuffed with it ... http://youtu.be/VH3U-9vKYl8
Nice one Art B, your doin it right , checking it out on the bench 1st,i knew of a guy who pulled and stripped/rebuilt and refitted his z engine(motorbike) couldnt now get 1st gear , he pulled ,stripped and refitted said engine3 times before he bothered 2 look in the manual which informes anyone that you have to have the engine running to successfully engage 1st gear ! good stripdowns/successful rebuilds take quality planning (in my op. anyhow)
Sounds good (although idle speed could mebbe do with a tweak-up ) ! Love the mains light switch starter button
cheers guys it has an engle 110 camshaft so its a bit lumpy, and its all new so it may need a tweak when its run in....
Would've thought a 110 would be ok (but nothing hotter). Mr weeding might have a view on this... Very tidy engine - is it still a 1600?
hi guys... :-* yup broke the cam and followers in, with 3 x 10 minute runs at 2500 rpm.. the tappets are set spot on at the moment, tbh in real life the engine sounds great... i just turned the idle down a bit, 8) i have just got an oil bath filter this weekend at brighton and will get it set up with the crankcase breather when it goes in the bus,
